SIZE 46 STREET BAND

The humorous marchin' group "SIZE 46 STREET BAND" is a successful mix of New Orleans and South-of -Italy musical styles. Active since 1995, this joyful ensemble has attended at Jazz Festivals, Buskers Meetings, Weddings, Country Fairs, Private Parties, carrying in all occasions smiles and great music!

7 musicians ( soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxes; trumpet, trombone and snare drum), create a unique sound where Dixieland, Italian Swing, Balkans, Blues, Napolitan and Sicilian Tarantellas, but also Chaplin, Weill, Nino Rota, Beatles (and much more) are blended: often than not, the audience take part to the show, following the band, dancing or creating happy carousels.

Improvisations take a huge part in the show, accordingly with the pure Jazz Tradition: from Muskrat Ramble to The Chicken; from Sweet Georgia Brown to I Got Rhytmhm, the positive energy of the SIZE 46 STREET BAND leave in the audience a sense of well-being.

The secret? We play AMONG the people!

 

L'accattivante gruppo itinerante SIZE 46 STREET BAND è un felice mix tra una Marchin' Band in puro stile New Orleans e un' allegra banda di paese. Nata nel 1995, la SIZE 46 STREET BAND ha partecipato ad un cospicuo numero di eventi, da Jazz Festival a raduni Buskers; da Matrimoni a Sagre paesane, portando ovunque una benefica ventata di buon umore e grande Musica!

7 musicisti ( 4 sassofonisti, tromba, trombone e percussioni) per un sound unico, dove il Dixieland, lo Swing Italiano, il Blues, i Balcani, l’ Africa, il Sud Italia - ma anche Chaplin, Weill, Rota, Beatles formano un coloratissimo caleidoscopio sonoro, che ha un effetto coinvolgente per il pubblico, che partecipa spesso allo show con balli e allegri cortei. 

E come la migliore tradizione Jazz impone, largo spazio alle improvvisazioni, ora in stile Satchmo ( Muskrat Ramble, Sweet Georgia Brown, When the Saints Go Marchin' in); ora in stile Bird ( I got Rhythm, The Chicken), sempre con occhio attento all'Interplay e la più rispettosa attinenza allo stile Marchin' Band!
